The 3 Series offers three trim levels, all packed with features. The 330i begins with features like a sunroof, LED headlights, automatic climate control, simulated leather upholstery, and power-adjustable seats. The 330e includes many of the same features as the 330i, but with an electric engine. Finally, the M340i includes an uprated engine and a range of performance upgrades, including beefier brakes, a sport differential, and an aerodynamic body kit.

Numerous options packages are available for the 3 Series. Each package bundles features together, such as the Premium package with heated seats and a heated steering wheel and the Driver Assistance package with a range of advanced safety features.

The 3 Series starts with the 330i and its 255-horsepower turbo-four, which uses an eight-speed automatic and rear- or all-wheel drive. The 330e uses the same engine with an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery that produces 288 horsepower and an EPA-estimated 22 miles of electric-only range.

The M340i uses a 3.0-liter turbo-six that produces 382 horsepower with rear- or all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission. Another option is a 473-horsepower twin-turbo six-cylinder that produces 503 horsepower and boasts a top speed of 180 MPH. Handling is excellent, especially if you choose the optional conventional tire setup. The 3 Series also boasts a smooth, composed ride quality that glides over road imperfections and handles curves with ease.

The 3 Series comes with an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto smartphone integration, which streams media from your phone to the car’s system. You’ll also get a 10-speaker audio system and options like premium sound, a head-up display, and gesture control for the infotainment system.

The 3 Series safety features are available as part of options packages. You can get adaptive headlights, parking sensors, and high-tech features like blind-spot monitors to keep you aware of vehicles around you, and adaptive cruise control, a feature that adjusts your speed to stay with the flow of traffic. There’s also lane-departure warning and lane-keeping assist, features that alert you if you drift out of your lane and steer your car back, which is helpful for highway driving.
