2019 BMW X7 Configurations
If you’re thinking about making the BMW X7 your next luxury SUV, it’s important to decide which trim configuration to choose. While there may only be two, they include a variety of unique features that’ll personalize your next drive around Manhattan, the Bronx, and Queens.

Upgraded Power and Standard Capability
The base configuration is the 2019 BMW X7 xDrive40i. It’s equipped with the standard 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo engine. It cranks out 335 horsepower and 330 lb-ft of torque. You can ramp up your level of power with the BMW X7 xDrive50i. Underneath its hood lies the 4.4-liter TwinPower Turbo V8 engine. It generates 456 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque.
Both models come standard with xDrive. It’s a permanent all-wheel drive system that’s specifically engineered to give you a more capable drive. Under normal driving conditions, it distributes power between the front and rear axles at a 40 to 60 ratio. It’ll adjust the torque split to ensure that you maintain maximum control and balance in all road situations.
You’ll also be able to fine-tune the performance of either trim configuration with the standard Driving Dynamics Control. It has four different driving modes you can choose from.
Interior Comfort
Both configurations of the BMW X7 interior will seat you and six of your friends. They also both come with Automatic 4-zone Climate Control, to keep everyone at their ideal temperature. On top of that, with 41.9 inches of headroom, there will be enough room for everybody to stretch out!
If you want to customize your comfort up front, the xDrive40i has 16-way power front seats with 4-way lumbar support. The xDrive50i, on the other hand, will give you the improved support of 20-way power multi-contour front sport seats. Plus, you’ll also get the added soft touch of Vernasca Leather upholstery.
Advanced Technology
Live Cockpit Professional, standard on both trim levels, will keep you in command with two 12.3-inch displays. They can be managed from either the iDrive touchpad controller or the touchscreen. You’ll also have the ability to manage the vehicle controls, navigation, and entertainment systems with the sound of your voice!
There are technologies designed to keep you safe, too! Both configurations come with the Active Protection System standard. It prepares for an imminent collision by closing the windows and activating post-crash braking. With the 2019 BMW X7 xDrive50i, however, you’ll also get Active Driving Assistant Professional. This system has innovative features which include:
