BMW X3 vs Audi Q5 Performance

If you're shopping for a luxury crossover, performance is likely high on your list of importance. Neither the 2018 BMW X3 nor the 2018 Audi Q5 disappoint, but a closer look will showcase the differences in power and capability.

The X3 is outfitted with a 2.0L turbo-four rated for 248 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. It has a 0-60-second runtime of fewer than six seconds and can reach a speed of 130 MPH, even in all-wheel drive. There's also a 3.0L turbo-six that can produce 355 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque, which gives it an incredible 4.6-second runtime and a top speed of 155 MPH.

The Q5 offers a 2.0L turbo-four as its base engine, which is rated for 258 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. Though this is a fine base engine, the Q5 doesn't offer any other engine options for more power.

Standard and Optional Features

No luxury vehicle would be complete without the latest technology and innovation. Satellite radio, HD Radio™, a wireless charging pad, a surround-view camera, and Bluetooth® connectivity are often included or available for modern vehicles, such as the 2018 BMW X3, but they're notably absent from the Q5's options list.

The X3 also offers a 10.3-inch touchscreen iDrive system with navigation. This system has crisp, high-resolution graphics and plenty of additional features, which outrivals the Q5's MMI® interface.

As if this wasn't enough, the X3 offers several high-performance options, such as a Dynamic Handling package or Performance Control, to enhance its driving experience. The Q5 doesn't have the option for advanced performance or capability for any of its models.
