BMW vs Mercedes Reliability
Drive the streets of Manhattan, the Bronx, and Queens in style. When comparing BMW vs. Mercedes reliability, you’ll find that both manufacturers offer a lot to drivers in the area. You might be wondering which brand is best when it comes to reliability.
At BMW of Manhattan, we’ve put together this BMW vs. Mercedes reliability comparison, so you can get a feel for what each has to offer.
BMW vs Mercedes New Vehicle Warranty
When you buy a new BMW, you’re protected with the new vehicle warranty, which covers the first four years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. BMW stands behind the vehicles they create. If you have questions, visit our service center for more information about the limited vehicle warranty.
Mercedes offers a 4-year/50,000-mile new vehicle limited warranty, with roadside assistance techs to help via phone 24 hours a day. You’ll find a similar feature with BMWs, with unlimited-mileage roadside assistance for the first four years of vehicle ownership.
They also offer BMW Ultimate Care. Any vehicle model year 2017 or newer comes with this program, which provides scheduled maintenance for three years or 36,000 miles, whichever is reached first.
The following maintenance items are covered under BMW Ultimate Care:
- Engine oil and filter
- Brake fluid
- Cabin micro filter
- Engine air filter
- Spark plugs
- Remote control/key battery
BMW vs Mercedes Certified Pre-Owned Reliability
A certified pre-owned vehicle is a great way to get behind the wheel of one of these luxury brands in a way that doesn’t require you to buy a brand-new car. Not everyone needs that new car, and buying a certified pre-owned car lets you choose from a wide range of vehicles at competitive prices.
BMW ensures only the best cars are entered in the BMW Certified Pre-Owned Program. To meet the strict qualifications, BMW certified pre-owned (CPO) cars must have less than 60,000 miles on the odometer, and be less than six years old. The Mercedes CPO program is slightly different, allowing cars to reach up to 75,000 miles. If you’re looking for a CPO vehicle with fewer miles on the odometer, BMW may be the way to go.
Each BMW and Mercedes CPO vehicle comes with a vehicle history report. These cars are inspected in a thorough manner before hitting the lot. BMW requires a 196-point inspection for a vehicle to become certified pre-owned, while Mercedes vehicles pass a 164-point inspection.
