2019 BMW X3 vs BMW X1

As part of the BMW lineup of SUVs, both the 2019 BMW X3 and BMW X1 have sleek designs, athletic performance, and luxurious features for an exceptional driving experience.

Although both vehicles sport some common specs and features, our team here at BMW of Manhattan also wanted to help our drivers in Manhattan, the Bronx, and Queens decide between the 2019 BMW X3 vs. BMW X1 by highlighting a few of their differences.

Exciting, Sporty Performance

2019 BMW X3 PerformanceStarting with the powertrain, you’ll see that both cars provide lively driving with the standard 2.0L TwinPower Turbo inline 4-cylinder engine. Both the BMW X3 and X1 will get 258 lb-ft of torque from this engine and come with the 8-speed STEPTRONIC automatic transmission with Sport and Manual shift modes.

Each vehicle also comes with Dynamic Stability Control and the variable driving modes of Driving Dynamics Control. They also each have the available xDrive all-wheel drive system. If it’s more power you want, the 2019 BMW X3 has an available 3.0L TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder engine that generates 355 horsepower and 365 lb-ft of torque.

Interior Space of the BMW X1 vs X3

With each of these models, you’ll be able to fit five people inside. In the 2019 BMW X1, you’ll be provided with 41.9 inches of headroom. It also gives the front seats 40.4 inches of legroom and the rear passengers 37.0 inches of legroom. The BMW X3 has a little less space for you and your passengers with 41.1 inches of front headroom, 40.3 inches of legroom up front, and 36.4 inches of legroom for the back seats.

The trade-off for less passenger space is more cargo space in the 2019 X3. Behind both rows, the BMW X3 has 28.7 cubic feet of volume for cargo. Its cargo capacity can also reach up to 62.7 cubic feet when the rear seats are folded down. The BMW X1 supplies you with 27.1 cubic feet of cargo volume behind the second row. Its maximum cargo capacity is 58.7 cubic feet.

Features Found Inside Each BMW SUV

They both come with technology to keep you entertained as well. Within the BMW X3 and X1, you’ll be able to wirelessly stream music through Bluetooth® or choose to listen to one of the clear channels as part of HD Radio™.

There are a few differences though in other technology they offer. They both have a HiFi Sound System, but the X3 has a 12-speaker system while the X1 has a 7-speaker system.
