Starting with the powertrain, you’ll see that both cars provide lively driving with the standard 2.0L TwinPower Turbo inline 4-cylinder engine. Both the BMW X3 and X1 will get 258 lb-ft of torque from this engine and come with the 8-speed transmission.

Each vehicle also comes with Dynamic Stability Control and the various driving modes of Driving Dynamics Control. They also each have the available xDrive all-wheel drive system.

If it’s more power you want, the 2021 BMW X3 has an available 3.0L BMW M TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder engine that generates 382 horsepower and 368 lb-ft of torque.

The trade-off for less passenger space in the X3 is more cargo space. Behind both rows, the BMW X3 has 28.7 cubic feet of volume for cargo. Its cargo capacity can also reach up to 62.7 cubic feet when the rear seats are folded down.

The BMW X1 supplies you with 27.1 cubic feet of cargo volume behind the second row. Its maximum cargo capacity is 58.7 cubic feet.

Both the 2021 X1 and 2021 X3 come with elegant and stylish interior designs. The BMW X1 has SensaTec upholstery and a high-gloss black interior trim with Pearl Gloss Chrome highlight. The BMW X3 also has SensaTec upholstery. Inside the X3, you’ll get Dark Oak Wood trim.

They both come with technology to keep you entertained as well. Within the BMW X3 and X1, you’ll be able to wirelessly stream music through Bluetooth®.

There are a few differences, though, in other technology they offer. They both have a HiFi Sound System, but the X3 has a 12-speaker system while the X1 has a 7-speaker system. However, the 2021 BMW X1 adds a technology feature that the X3 doesn’t have: the BMW Navigation Business system.
